Pet Portrait Artist
I am a UK-based artist specialising in custom pet portraits, particularly dogs, using pencil to capture the unique personalities of your beloved pets. Working directly from your photos, I can create a personalised portrait and ship it anywhere. Feel free to browse the gallery or read more about how to commission a pet portrait below.

With their soulful faces, dogs, horses, and other animals make beautiful subjects for pencil portraits. I focus on capturing their unique personalities, just as I would with a person’s portrait. Before starting, I like to learn more about your pet’s character so I can bring their spirit to life in the drawing.

While phone cameras are convenient, the higher the quality of the image, the better the result. Photos shared through apps like WhatsApp or screenshots often lose clarity and aren’t ideal for detailed portraits. However, a good quality phone photo can work if it's taken in natural light. For the best results, I recommend using a digital camera and shooting outdoors. Below are examples of ideal photos, and you can find more tips on taking suitable images on this page.
-
Take your photos outdoors whenever possible. Natural light provides the sharpest and clearest images; avoid indoor artificial lighting.
-
Photograph your pet as close-up as possible. For full-body portraits, remember not to cut off your pet’s feet!
-
If you don’t want the collar included in the portrait, please remove it for the photo.
-
Don’t worry about drool or minor imperfections—I won’t include them in the final portrait.
