Meet Tom McGlynn
I’ve been passionate about drawing for as long as I can remember. At just three years old, instead of stick figures, I was sketching detailed shapes—something my mum saw as a sign to encourage me to pursue my talent. That early love for drawing has stayed with me, and today, it’s my profession.
My Story
My favourite part of the process is losing myself in the drawing. Watching an image come to life on paper is something that never gets old, and I take pride in capturing the emotions of each person I draw. Many of my clients have told me that my work brings them to tears, particularly when I draw portraits of those who have passed.
One of the most surreal moments of my career was drawing Steven Gerrard—my lifelong hero as a Liverpool FC fan. What started as a personal project ended with Steven himself reaching out for a commission, and meeting him to deliver the portrait was a dream come true.
Whether it’s a cherished memory or a loved one, my goal is to create artwork that resonates on an emotional level.
